However, an Amass manufacturer datasheet for certain XT90-H connectors lists 45 A rated current and 90 A momentary current. Do not treat 90 A as a continuous rating. That datasheet applies only to the exact Amass model it covers; confirm the model suffix and the rating of the selected connector. The Generic option is not covered by that Amass datasheet. Safe current also depends on wire gauge, soldering, contact condition, temperature, and the installation.

🔌 Polarity and connection

The source’s polarity description (“centre = +, body = −”) is ambiguous for this two-contact connector. Identify positive and negative from the molded markings and the exact connector/wiring diagram; do not infer polarity from the shell or connector gender. Match positive to positive and negative to negative, and check continuity and for shorts before connecting a battery.

💡 Typical applications

Battery connections for drones and multirotors

LiPo packs for e-bikes, scooters, and RC models

Portable UPS and inverter battery systems

DC-DC converter and power-management prototypes

Robotics and other DC battery-powered equipment

🛠️ Soldering and safety

Disconnect the battery and all power before soldering. Use a soldering iron suitable for the connector and wire, avoid overheating the plastic housing, insulate each joint with appropriate heat-shrink tubing, and verify polarity and isolation before energizing. High-current battery wiring can cause severe burns, fire, or equipment damage if shorted. Use a correctly rated fuse and wiring appropriate to the actual load.

Amass manufacturer datasheet (applies to the listed XT90H-F model only)

XT90 two-pole battery connector available in male or female versions and Amass or Generic options.
