Description
RS-775-8014 18V DC Motor – 20,000 rpm
This RS-775 series carbon-brush DC motor offers a balance of high speed and power for applications ranging from small robotics to portable tools and miniature spindles.
🔧 Technical specifications
- Rated voltage: 18 V DC (range 16.8–20.4 V)
- No-load at 18 V: 20,000 rpm; no-load current I₀ = 2.5 A
- At the stated maximum-power point: speed 17,300 rpm; current 16.2 A; torque 1,330 g·cm (0.13 N·m); mechanical output 237 W; efficiency 81.4%
- Stall: torque 10,000 g·cm (0.98 N·m); stall current Iₛ = 105 A
- Body: Ø 46 × 67 mm
- Shaft: Ø 5 × 17 mm
- Mounting: 2 × M4 holes, 29 mm center-to-center
- Operating temperature: −10 °C to +60 °C
💡 Typical applications
- High-speed miniature spindles and drills
- Portable tools such as mini grinders and polishers
- Lightweight robotics requiring a fast motor
- Compact pumps and fans
- Arduino/ESP32 projects requiring high mechanical output
⚙️ Installation and wiring
- Connect the red wire to +18 V DC and the black wire to GND.
- Reverse polarity to change the rotation direction.
- For PWM control, use a MOSFET driver rated for 120 A peak, such as a BTS7960 H-bridge.
- Add a 0.1 µF capacitor across the terminals to reduce electrical interference.
- Mount through the two M4 holes and leave at least 5 mm clearance around the body for heat dissipation.
Power-supply note: The source listing recommends an 18 V supply capable of at least 30 A to use the motor’s stated peak power. The listed stall current is 105 A, so use a suitable current-limited supply and driver; do not allow the motor to remain stalled.
