🔌 Common-cathode vs common-anode
- Common cathode: the digit’s common pin is connected to ground to select it; a segment normally lights when its segment pin is driven HIGH through a current-limiting resistor.
- Common anode: the digit’s common pin is connected to the positive supply to select it; a segment normally lights when its segment pin is driven LOW through a current-limiting resistor.
These are bare LED displays without a built-in controller. Use one current-limiting resistor per segment and a suitable driver; do not connect LED segments directly to a supply. For multiplexed use, check the MCU’s current limits and use transistor drivers where required.
