Description
AAA ×1 Battery Holder — 1.5V or 1.2V Supply
Holder for one removable AAA battery to power small electronic projects. It avoids soldering directly to the cell and makes battery replacement easier. Nominal supply is 1.5V with an alkaline AAA cell or 1.2V with a rechargeable NiMH cell.
Features
- For one AAA cell
- Nominal output: 1.5V (alkaline) or 1.2V (NiMH)
- Removable, replaceable cell
- Compact and lightweight; suitable for enclosure integration and prototypes
- Positive and negative output leads
- No voltage regulation
- No built-in charger
- Battery not included
Actual voltage varies with cell type, state of charge and load.
Alkaline or NiMH?
| Cell | Nominal voltage | Rechargeable |
|---|---|---|
| AAA alkaline | 1.5V | No |
| AAA NiMH | 1.2V | Yes, with a suitable charger |
How to use
- Check that the circuit accepts about 1.2–1.5V.
- Identify the + and – markings in the holder.
- Insert the AAA cell with correct polarity.
- Measure output voltage with a multimeter.
- Connect positive to circuit VCC and negative to GND.
- Add a switch if needed.

Precautions
- Observe polarity; never short the outputs.
- Never recharge an alkaline cell.
- Remove a NiMH cell and charge it in a suitable charger.
- Do not use leaking or damaged cells.
- Remove the cell for long-term storage.
- Confirm that your circuit accepts the available voltage.
