Description
ADXL335 3-Axis Accelerometer Module
This module uses the ADXL335 to measure acceleration along the X, Y and Z axes. Its analog output voltages can be read by compatible microcontroller ADC inputs. It can detect the static effect of gravity for tilt sensing, as well as motion, shock and vibration.
Features
- Measurement range: ±3 g.
- Three analog outputs: XOUT, YOUT and ZOUT.
- Bandwidth is set separately for each axis by capacitors CX, CY and CZ connected to the corresponding output.
- The source listing states 0.5–1600 Hz for X/Y and 0.5–550 Hz for Z; achievable bandwidth depends on the module circuit and fitted capacitors.
- The source listing specifies a 3–6 V module supply. Confirm the board input range and output levels before connecting it.
Current specification: the source says “350 A”, which is an apparent unit error. Analog Devices specifies 350 µA typical for the ADXL335 IC itself, powered at 3 V; this does not establish the complete module current. The IC supply range is 1.8–3.6 V, so do not apply the module listing’s 3–6 V directly to a bare ADXL335 chip.
Check the module pinout and ensure each analog output stays within the connected controller input limits. The source datasheet is available at ADXL335 datasheet.
