Description
MAX30102 Heart-Rate and Pulse-Oximetry Sensor Module
This breakout is based on the MAX30102 optical sensor, which integrates red and infrared LEDs, photodetectors and low-noise electronics with ambient-light rejection. It communicates through an I2C-compatible interface and is intended for wearable and fitness-project development.
Features stated by the source
- Red and infrared LED peak wavelengths: 660 nm and 880 nm.
- Interface: I2C.
- Sensor operating temperature: −40 to +85 °C.
- Module dimensions: 20.3 × 15.2 mm; weight: 1.1 g.
- The listing states an LED supply of 3.3–5 V.
Power note: Analog Devices specifies a 1.8 V supply for the MAX30102 sensor and a separate supply for its internal LEDs (3.3 V in the datasheet). The listing’s 3.3–5 V figure may refer to the breakout board; confirm its regulator and I2C logic-level circuitry before applying 5 V.
This component provides optical measurements for prototyping. It is not a certified medical device, and readings from this module must not be used to diagnose, treat or monitor a health condition or replace clinical equipment.
