Description
Toroidal Inductors for EMI/EMC
This low-leakage toroidal inductor is designed to filter noise and suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC) in switching power supplies, data lines, and power circuits.
🔧 Technical specifications
- Core: 5026 toroidal ferrite (13 mm outer diameter, 6 mm inner diameter, 5 mm thick)
- Wire: 0.45 mm diameter enamelled copper
- Available inductance values: 10 µH, 22 µH, 33 µH, 47 µH, 68 µH, 100 µH, 220 µH, 330 µH, 470 µH
- Recommended maximum current: 3 A
- DC resistance: typically 0.6 Ω to 1.5 Ω depending on value (measure each inductor)
- Useful frequency range: from a few kHz to several MHz
- High impedance at HF for effective noise filtering
💡 Typical applications
- EMI/EMC filtering in switching power supplies and DC-DC converters
- Noise suppression on USB, CAN, Ethernet, I²C, and SPI lines
- Output-voltage smoothing in regulated power supplies
- Protecting audio and RF circuits from interference
- High-frequency resonant and decoupling circuits
🛠️ Pinout and connections
- Axial leads: solder both enamelled-copper wire ends directly to the PCB or fit them into 2.54 mm through-hole supports.
- Placement: position the core near the input or output section of the converter for effective noise filtering.
