Description
2× AAA Battery Holder Wired in Series
This compact holder takes two AAA batteries and provides a supply for small electronic circuits, sensors, toys and portable projects. The two cells are wired in series, so their voltages add.
- Two AAA battery slots
- Series connection (2S)
- Nominal output: 3V with two alkaline cells or 2.4V with two NiMH cells
- Positive and negative output leads
- No built-in voltage regulator or charging circuit
- Batteries are not included
Series connection
Voltage adds in series, while capacity remains approximately that of one cell.
2 piles alcalines :
1,5 V + 1,5 V = 3 V
2 accus Ni-MH :
1,2 V + 1,2 V = 2,4 V
For example, two 800mAh NiMH cells form a pack rated about 2.4V and 800mAh, not 1600mAh.
Use
- Use two matching AAA cells.
- Check their condition and voltage.
- Observe the + and − markings in each slot.
- Insert the cells with the indicated polarity.
- Measure the total output voltage with a multimeter.
- Connect positive to circuit VCC and negative to GND.
- Add a switch if needed.
Porte-piles + ─── Interrupteur ─── VCC
Porte-piles – ──────────────────── GND
Safety notes
- Do not mix alkaline and NiMH cells.
- Use cells of the same type, capacity and similar condition; do not pair a new cell with a used one.
- Never recharge alkaline batteries. Charge NiMH cells only with a suitable NiMH charger.
- Observe polarity and do not short-circuit the output.
- Remove the cells for long-term storage.
Example applications
Small robots and toys, compatible 3V circuits, suitable LED lighting, alarms, buzzers, standalone sensors, small controllers and low-voltage prototypes.
