Rain Sensor Module

This rain-sensor set has a conductive sensing plate and a control module. Water droplets on the plate reduce resistance between its tracks. The control module converts the sensor signal and provides analog and digital outputs.

Specifications

• Operating voltage: 3.3–5 V DC
• Outputs: analog A0 and digital D0
• Rain-sensor plate dimensions: 54 × 40 mm
• Control-module dimensions: 30 × 16 mm
• Sensitivity: adjustable using the onboard potentiometer
• LED indicators: power and output signal

How it works

When raindrops wet the conductive tracks on the sensing plate, resistance between the tracks decreases. The resulting signal is read by the control module and can be monitored by a microcontroller. The potentiometer adjusts the digital-output threshold.

Library installation

For the LCD example, use the Arduino IDE Library Manager to install LiquidCrystal_I2C.
